Taiwan Curiosity - Coffee Shop Booze

It's not too often that you find a whisky display at your local chain coffee shop.
It's even rarer to find said whisky displayed on a table for anyone to touch and potentially filch.

But things are a little different in Taiwan. Whisky is about the only hard liquor you'll find on store shelves. Whisky, red wine and Taiwan beer seem to be by far the three most-popular alcoholic beverages.

Stare at the menu at this Mr. Brown Coffee in Taipei's exhibit hall and you'll notice a few whisky coffee offerings.

Only $30 NT, a little bit less than a buck, to add a shot to your fancy drink.
