With the calendar saying that it's almost Halloween (even though the recent weather has been more Labor-day like), Allie has been in her soups-and-stews mode. The thick coastal fog we've had off-and-on for the past couple of days have added to the fall feeling. Well, as "fall" as it gets here in North County.
So she fired up not one, but two stock pots this afternoon and whipped up a beef stew...
...and a wicked chicken lentil stew with turkey bacon (further enhanced by copious amounts of Cholula - nectar of the gods).
I'm fortunate to be married to a woman with mad cooking skillz (among her other skillz). Good eatin' here in Carlsbad tonight; can't wait to bring leftovers for lunch.
