Halloween Block Party

With Halloween converging on a Saturday this year, the neighborhood's H.O.A. (Home Owner's Association) delayed the annual block party a few months - it usually occurs in June, just after school lets out.

Aside from our first Boulder condo, we've never lived in an H.O.A.-regulated neighborhood. When we first read the neighborhood rules, we just figured grin-and-bear it (technically you can't roll your trash out until after sunset the evening before trash pickup day). But thankfully it's a very relaxed neighborhood - this is North County after all - and the residents are super-cool.

And with that HOA comes a really nice block party, placed in a wide spot in the road a few doors down from us. With an inflatable "jumpy" and slide...
...both of which came deflated a few times when the circuit breaker tripped...
...adding to the excitement!
Plenty of meats...
...and treats...
...and dirty feets:
Even though Celeste was playing non-stop from 10 AM on, she was still able to trick-or-treat a large part of our neighborhood, along with two adjoining ones. Her plastic pumpkin is filled with sugary snacks - and that's good as we just threw out her leftover candy from last Halloween on Friday.
