Why can't our house be sold - or at least rented?

If it was, I'd have this beast (1973 VW "Thing" aka Type 181) in my garage.


A local friend of mine is selling it, it's pretty solid and complete, just needs a few rust fixes and a head rebuild, neither of which are major deals on air-cooled VWs.

Talk about the perfect Beachvagen. Did I mention that it's cheap?

I already have dreams about painting it a funky Euro 70s color (other than yellow)...


..or going with a military look.

Someday. A Thing is on my list of cars I will own before I'm dead.
