Depth of Speed - Simple Soul
Makes me miss my old Bus. Not that it was anywhere near as nice as this splitty.

Down On The Street
While walking the dog this evening, I came across this green beast that had been buzzing about the neighborhood over the weekend.
It's a 1958 Austin A35, fresh off the boat from England. I spoke with the owner, he just picked it up from his aunt. The car was his late uncle's. I'm pretty sure that it's the only Austin A35 in our small neighborhood.
Powered by a fire-breathing, 948cc iron lump...
...which propelled this green machine to a top speed of 60 MPH. I wish I could capture the musty smell, the car sat in on blocks in an English barn for twelve years prior to it coming across the pond.
Lots of interesting details, like badging:
Optimistic speedo as part of the instrument cluster:Service specialist decal:
Trunk-mounted brass fire extinguisher:
And Joe "Prince of Darkness" Lucas electrics:
He'll be keeping this license plate and will run the California plate below the bumper.
He's already been offered more than what he has into it. I'm sure he'll have plenty more offers as he scoots around Carlsbad.
