Down On The Street

This fantastic, plastic specimen was found at a Carlsbad detail shop's lot late last week.
I don't know much about Corvettes, but I do like the "C2" Sting Ray body style from the 60s. Especially in coupe form. Still, I wouldn't kick this convertible example out of the garage.
Especially since this one is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission.
Still sporting the original black plates, this car has always been registered in the Golden State.
Too bad most all modern cars have computer-generated badging. Somewhere in the deepest recesses of GM there has to be a hand drawing of this Corvette script.

The tacky gingerbread like this cosmetic fender vent indicates that this car is a '63. By '64, they were gone, as was the iconic split rear window on the coupe.
